MHFA England Adult Mental Health 1st Aid Course

This course is for any adult in developing their knowledge and skills regarding mental health and the content is transferable to any community where adults work and socialise together.
The aims of MHFA are:
-To preserve life where a person may be at risk of harm to themselves or others
- To provide help to prevent the mental health issue from becoming more serious before professional help arrives
- To promote recovery of good mental health
- To provide comfort to a person with a mental health issue
- To raise awareness of mental health issues in the community
- To reduce stigma and discrimination
- To improve our own health and wellbeing

MHFA England Youth Mental Health 1st Aid Course

This is MHFA England  First Aid course for people who work with young people and it equips attendees with this in-depth syllabus.​

Topics include:

  • Practical skills to spot the triggers and signs of mental health issues

  • Confidence to reassure and support a young person in distress

  • Enhanced interpersonal skills such as non-judgemental listening

  • Tools to look after your own mental wellbeing ​and effective self-care
